چکیده
Abstract We conducted a series of fundamental research-based experimentations to measure the X-ray production cross sections K-, L-, and M-shells from thick samples Cu, Ag Au, respectively, for proton beam in lower energy range 0.7 - 3.5 MeV utilizing particle induced emission (PIXE) analysis. The measurement theories based on Merzbacher-Lewis (ML) relationship procedure are described. detector efficiency system calibration were first measured Fe-55 Am-241 sources standard sample, respectively. yields as function fitted finding derivatives which used section measurement. obtained results compared with published data predictions theoretical models Plane Wave Born Approximation (PWBA) advanced ECPSSR. Cu good agreement predictions, especially regime, most reported data, while higher regime deviated by few times but still same order magnitude data. Au excellent values.

Consider potential of gold nanoparticles with proton therapy compared with KV and MEV X-ray therapy.
Introduction: Many study shown the effectiveness dose enhancement with gold nanoparticles (GNPs), especially with low-energy x-rays. Recently, proton beam radiation therapy (PBRT) has attention as a treatment for tumors. The advantage in PBRT, which releases high dose at the controllable Bragg peak position that localized for Au target and the released dose increased in depth....
متن کاملComparison of proton and helium induced M subshell X-ray production cross sections with the ECUSAR theory
M subshell X-ray production cross sections have been measured for Ma12, Mb1, Mc, M2–N4 and M1–O23 transitions representing all five M subshells. These experimental cross sections have been compared with the ECUSAR theory of Lapicki and four parameter fits are given to the experiment to theory ratios covering the proton and helium ion energy range from 0.5 to 3 MeV on thin W, Au, Pb, Th and U ta...

Background: Proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) has been applied as reliable and improved techniques in this study to compare concentration of various trace elements in normal and abnormal varicose veins. Materials and Methods: Five samples from normal veins and 13 samples from varicose veins bombarded by 2.0 MeV energy proton beams produced by a Van de Graff accelerator in vacuum. T...
متن کاملProton-induced X-ray Emission
Black particles, collected by filtration (1.2~pm pore size) from the anoxic waters of a soft-water lake, were examined by a scanning proton microprobe which permitted quantitative elemental analysis by proton-induced X-ray emission (PIXE) and Rutherford backscattering (RBS). There was a uniform distribution of sulfur across the filter, but Fe, and to a lesser extent, Mn, was localized in -5-pm-...
متن کاملComparison of Singh index accuracy and dual energy X-ray absorptiometry bone mineral density measurement for evaluating osteoporosis
Background: The Singh index is an inexpensive simple method to evaluate bone density, commonly used to assess osteoporosis is based on the radiological appearance of the trabecular bone structure of the proximal femur on a plain antero-posterior (AP) radiograph. The purpose of this study was to compare between Singh index and bone mineral density measurement using dual energy X-ray abs...
